Every 12 weeks iRacing releases a new build of the sim with updates and new content.  In this build that came out at the beginning of the week there were a variety of updates that will change the way the sim drive and feels forever.

In this video Blog Shaun talks about the update and some of its features and how it will effect our racing online.  In addition to the changes to the sim such as dynamic tracks and anti cheat detection there were 2 new cars released to the sim.  The Corvette C7 Prototype and the NASCAR Exfinity Toyota Camry.

Hi Shaun,

Great Video on the new content update.
The Auto blip you talk about, I use it Shaun. Before when you changed down it would do it straight away, Now there is a delay as you need to be at the right speed for the gear and revs. As in real life you cannot go from 70mph in 4th or 5th gear to 2nd gear 35/40mph, the gear box would not last very long.
Im wondering in iRacing would it make the gearbox fail as in real life.
Back in iRacing, In some cars it wont change down, you have to be really slowing down, or on the break hard again at the right speed before it does so.

I dont know if its the same for everyone or just the way that I drive. Would be interesting to know, what cars are affected by this, and what cars it affects the biggest. Some cars it will change down ok but others it takes longer.
Such as the Ruf vs the Star Mazda. Star Mazda its break to slow and it changes down straight away from 6th to 5th to 4th without too much breaking.
In the Ruf you have to get it right down on the speed to match the gear, otherwise it will not change down.

Hope this comment helps a little, but like I say it may just be my style of driving?

Speak to you soon Shaun take care.

TP needs some updating. It is not very intuitive for new users. Instructions are hard to follow at times. Support response is in need of someone's dedication. Having individual paints is a real attraction within iRacing. This needs to be done better or replaced! Interesting that without member support there would be no answers or help. It's a shame, the program is so popular not to have good management.

Hey Shaun:

I was hoping to participate in the next race and on Simracing System it says it's at Fuji. Which version of Fuji should I download.

Thanks!

Sean,
I am all signed up and ready to race in the Carrera Cup, except for one thing.  How do I obtain Road America?  I do not have it in AC as one of my tracks.  Where is it?
