Video Blog: Montoya Vs. The Ganassi Gang

This last weekend we saw one of the greatest racing championship battles in recent history.  The final Indycar race at Sonoma had four drivers all having a shot at winning the championship.  This setup what would likely be an incredible race.

The race itself played out even better then anyone could of imagined.  Montoya was forced to fight for all he was worth and in the end lost the title in a battle.   Dixon won that championship on a tie breaker made off of a spreadsheet.

Shaun talks about some of the big moments from that race and how each effected the outcome of the championship.  He also talks about how this compares to sim racing and how we all might find ourselves in Montoya position one day.

The one point I wanted to make with Shaun when I discussed it, was why did they bring in Montoya without really taking the time to see if the barely damaged wing was actually effecting his lap times? I believe they should have waited until another yellow, or a scheduled pit stop. The other point, I think Power screwed up, not Montoya. Power missed his braking point, went off line, and then tried to go back to the normal line, but Montoya had momentum and had to run the line he had. Anyway, what's done is done, and the smarter driver, like usual, won.

Great blog Shaun.

TP needs some updating. It is not very intuitive for new users. Instructions are hard to follow at times. Support response is in need of someone's dedication. Having individual paints is a real attraction within iRacing. This needs to be done better or replaced! Interesting that without member support there would be no answers or help. It's a shame, the program is so popular not to have good management.

I was hoping to participate in the next race and on Simracing System it says it's at Fuji. Which version of Fuji should I download.

I am all signed up and ready to race in the Carrera Cup, except for one thing.  How do I obtain Road America?  I do not have it in AC as one of my tracks.  Where is it?
