Running in a league or racing series for points over a long period of time can be a daunting task at times.  In this series of videos we will take on the GT3 Challenge series in iRacing.  This is a 12 week racing season that points will be scored for each week.  In these videos I will show you some of the racing action, but more importantly, I will look for the lessons to be learned from each week.  Hopefully these experiences will help you in your quest for higher rankings or even championships.

I really enjoyed the first video in this series.  I wish you could have continued it.  While I do love the hardware reviews and looks, I also enjoy videos like this one a great deal.  It provides a good mix on the site if there were more like this.  Even if its just a raw stream of some weekly race that you upload to YouTube like other guys do with their Twitch streams.

Thank you for your comments Bobby.  One thing that is very important to me with The Simpit is having a great amount of diversity.  I will make sure to bring back this segment with more like it.  I am very glad that you enjoyed it.

More league racing like this.
Love the compact format - where you show highlights during the race, and issues around the run.
Can you do this for each week in the series please?

I hear ya! I am running COTA in the Ruf Track right now, and have a horrible case of turn 11 spins after about 4 or 5 laps.  heheh.  And I was just getting the hang of it last week too!  I guess COTA is a whole different beast!

Please do a review on the MFD - I am looking at the Lilliput or Mimo monitors 7" - and just thinking about getting a glass MFD setup that I could use in A-10, Arma and iRacing.

Hi Shaun,I was wondering if you could do a review on your Thrustmaster MFC Display and how it goes as a racing Display/Button box.

Thanks Mark.

Nice video, Shaun. I'm just getting back to it after a baby-induced layoff, so a lot of these points are super relevant to me right now.

I will be doing many pieces like this one in the future.  Future pieces will go beyond this topic ans situation and over time really find all of the mistakes we sim racers tend to make.

I was in a lower split and had the, now usual, iracing problems joining and when I finally joined, I had missed the start.

Qualified in 4th and the 3rd place qualifier had the same problem.  So from starting from the pits, we worked out way past the wrecks and worked together to make as many positions as possible.  We finished 7 seconds off 1st place in 2nd and 3rd (me).

Happy with that result considering the mess getting into the session.

Nicely done.  It seems to always be a little crazy in the GT3 series.

Thanks for the breakdown of your driving next to the best of your race. This comparison was an eye opener to how I should be driving compared to how I am actually driving.  You keep referring to trail breaking I'm relatively new to this new IRacing,(was an original owner of the first Nascar and had spend hours upon hours doing it.)  And I just don't get how it helps or hurts your racing style, I'll keep watching thanks for the video's and keep going fast. Tony

While I can't imagine wanting an Hyundai interior, it is very well done and looks incredible. Well done.

I like War Thunder, it has some real decent triple screen graphics and sound for flying the airplanes. I prefer the bombers at Arcade Battle rating, but some of the radial engined fighters are a lot of fun too. Other than that, I am an avaid truck driver driving a lot in American Truck Simulator and European Truck Simulator 2. They even have some really good multiplayer for both games, the ETS2 has a Winter mod built in, it looks like Winter with snow on everything and falling. Both games even have a short range "cb radio" that works in line of sight, you just set the microphone in the game and then it goes to a hot mike and people can hear you, but if you get out of sight, you can't hear each other. Now I wish other games would get the technology and incorporate it.
