The Simpit presents a review of Assetto Corsa (AC) in its current form version .21. Since its original release back in November 2013 AC has seen many updates to the overall sim. It has also seen an increase in the content within the sim including additional cars and tracks.
Hey Shaun,
Great review. On the graphics side of things I have a tidbit of info. I contacted Kunos directely to get advice on my gaming PC build. I went with a Titan Black video card. I asked if I should go with two. I was told not yet but that they had some really exciting things in the works for the graphics so I might want to add a 2nd later. Sounds like they might take graphics to a whole new level we've never seen before. Can't wait to see what they come up with. But I know they have tons they are working on at the same time so he wouldn't give an eta.

I am really enjoying this early access version of AC right now. I think you summed everything up quite well.
I do hope they "loosen" things up a little in the physics department--it's a little too forgiving right now.
Currently I'm waiting for my brother (works for nVidia) to send me a couple of newer graphics cards ("when he gets around to it") so for now, I'm using a DirectX10 GTX 275--and with the DirectX10 workaround (GUIDE), it actually performs surprisingly well. I don't have the boxed trees (as is the case with some older D10 cards) and I'm getting 70-80fps.
I'll add a couple of posts about my favorite mods in your forum--Salzburgring, Algarve.
Great Job. Now I have been avoiding the Challenges, mostly because I am just too slow, but maybe I will squeeze a few of thm in now.
On the physics, I love the way that even I can do a little bit of "drifting" thru the turns. It is really rewarding to me to be able to slide the car and regulate that slide thru the turn. This is the only game where I can do that. I'll never win a drift event, but it does add to the fun. Thanks to you, AC and the modders out there.
I was glad to see some review on triple screens since I have the ASUS GTX 780 3 Gb Vid card, 16 Gb of RAM, 3.4 Ghz on processor speed(?) and plan on adding the screens as soon as I can get the money saved up for those.
The Simpit Insider Tips:
#1 We spent over 45 hours of driving time testing Assetto Corsa prior to review.
#2 Assetto Corsa was reviewed with no driving aids turned on at all, Full Simulation mode.
#3 The wheels used during testing were a Fanatec Clubsport Wheel and an EC Sim Hardware Pro SW. The pedals are a converted set of Logitech G27 with heavier springs and a Total Spanish Simulator Brake pedal.

TP needs some updating. It is not very intuitive for new users. Instructions are hard to follow at times. Support response is in need of someone's dedication. Having individual paints is a real attraction within iRacing. This needs to be done better or replaced! Interesting that without member support there would be no answers or help. It's a shame, the program is so popular not to have good management.

I plan on taking this advice. Great page!

Hey Shaun:
I was hoping to participate in the next race and on Simracing System it says it's at Fuji. Which version of Fuji should I download.
Thanks!

Sean,
I am all signed up and ready to race in the Carrera Cup, except for one thing. How do I obtain Road America? I do not have it in AC as one of my tracks. Where is it?
