A message from Shaun on the Launch of The Simpit

I would like to welcome you to The Simpit and thank you for joining us in this new venture.  After many years of building the foundation for The Simpit, and months of preparation behind the scenes we are here.

Over the last few months I have received countless amount of emails and personal messages wishing me the best and hoping to see me in the future.  To be honest I have been a overwhelmed by the amount of support and and the people willing to offer a hand or opinion.  That feedback has not only been a giant motivating force behind The Simpit, but also has been an integral part of its design.

I have so many people to thank and the chances are that if you are reading this then you are one of those individuals.

Now despite the hard work that has gone into this and the many years of experience that this is built upon, this is still our maiden voyage in a new vessel.  We do expect to have some minor hiccups along the way.  The website is brand new and might have some bugs.  The audio on the show might take a while to really get tuned in just right.  Even our lighting might still need some improvement.  We have categories that still don’t have content.  But I can tell you that over time we will fix all of these issues.  And if you ever have an opinion, a gripe, concern, question or complaint: I invite you to contact us via our webpage and keep us on our toes.

So today is the launch of this new website, video show and community.  We are small for now, but we will be coming on strong with plenty of new content designed just for you, the avid sim racer.

So with much excitement and a thankful heart, I bring to you, The Simpit.

I'm so happy to see Shaun back in sim racing. ISR isn't the same and I'll leave it at that. Keep up the great work Shaun. I think it's impossible for you not to smile. And that my friend is a wonderful thing! I check here and your Facebook each day.

I'm really liking the new show Shaun and from the looks of it you will be hitting the sweet spot with a nice mix of content and topics.  I'm a big fan of modding and DIY but never sure how easy a job will be to tackle, so it really is useful to see how easy it can be done and the pitfalls to avoid.

Hello Shaun, It's great to see your back doing what you love & enjoy. I have eagerly awaited your return to the scene as I and many others have always enjoyed seeing your eyes light up when talking about something new in the world of simracing, from an update for an ageing sim to new tech on the scene. I like your "hands on" approach to hardware, showing possible mounting options or limitations, taking it apart to show the internal workings and the materials in the manufacture of the product is a big bonus for anyone considering buying the products you review.

Your energy reflects my passion on screen so therefore may I suggest to the community that you are from this point onwards known as......

'SimPitShaun'

Keep up the quality
Lastly, will there be a community forum here at The SimPit?

Great review, you've convinced me to buy one of these for my rigsmile

One question, do you think the mounting brackets could be inverted (and swapped left to right) to mount it from the top?

Hey man. Love your style and input on all your reviews. I have a question: my rig is fo the ps4, it has the thrustmaster t300 Alcántara edition, the fanatec clubsport v3 pedals, the cpx adapter from Basherboards, and I am looking forward to get this fanate shifter. You said that I could connect this shifter directly to the pedals via a USB cable. My question is: is that setup only for pc or will it work with the setup I provided above?

Thanks very much for your answer. I wouldn't wanna have to conform with the th8 because a misunderstanding of compatibility, and missing out on the fanatec Choice.

Thanks a bunch!

Okay 20 minutes is too short. Make the races an hour. Can you make it w/o pitting? I don't know, but with or w/o pitting it would be fun.

Thanks for the breakdown of your driving next to the best of your race. This comparison was an eye opener to how I should be driving compared to how I am actually driving.  You keep referring to trail breaking I'm relatively new to this new IRacing,(was an original owner of the first Nascar and had spend hours upon hours doing it.)  And I just don't get how it helps or hurts your racing style, I'll keep watching thanks for the video's and keep going fast. Tony
